Nkawie MCE commend Police Officers for arresting foreigners during lockdown

Two groups of Police Officers added up to seven personnel have been awarded with amount of Gh 4,000.00 for arresting group of foreigners during lockdown in Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality.

According to the report, 20 people who believe to have com from Senegal and 7 Malians during the lockdown at Manhyia and Toase a suburb of Nkawie in the Ashanti region.

The Municipal Chief Executive in the area, Hon Michael Amoah Awuku narrated in an interview with King Edward on Hello FM’s morning show program that the police with Nkawie municipality has shown patriotism in performing their duties, therefore they need to be commended for a good job done.

According to the MCE, the award was initiated to motivate the officers for their dedication during and after the lockdown.

“The said foreigners who purported to have travel from their various countries to Burkina Faso does not speak any language apart from French with the exception of the driver of the vehicle they were traveling with, yet they were able to maneuver their way through Western North region into Ashanti region before they were finally arrested in Nkawie despite numerous Custom, Immigration and Police barriers in that root whiles are still closed, how can this allow to happen?” Hon Awuku quizzes.

He therefore caution the general public to take precautionary measures very serious to avoid the spread of Coronavirus disease  because his government led by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is doing everything possible to protect the lives of Ghanaians, but that cannot happen without the cooperation of the citizenry.
