Former player for kumasi Asante kotoko, Saddick Adams has questioned Thomas Abbey’s comments on their defeat to Asante kotoko in the 2017 MTN FA Cup finals in Tamale. The former captain for Accra Hearts of Oak stated in an interview with Angel Fm that the management was owing them some amount of money that led them to lose their game against kotoko because their motivation was down prior to the game.
Saddick Adams was the hero on that faithful when he bagged in a hat trick for his side, Asante kotoko.
In an interview with kumasi based sikka fm,he said “why didn’t he say that earlier, coming out at time is not right.”
Asked about his future if he would welcome a move back to the club, he had this to say, “if kotoko needed me,they wouldn’t have let me go. They have enough young players who can handle the mantle”.
He went further by saying “football is not about age, it’s about experience and knowledge.Experience players are the people to give the young players motivation when they are down.”
In addition to this he opined, “I will never agree to play for my team if they fail to fulfill my contractual obligations and nothing positive said to me.”
“Football is the only trade some players engage in and if they are not well catered for by their club’s, their future security in terms of money will be in danger. A player can get an injury which can end his career and without any proper financial backbone, the will end up wallowing”.
