Concerned Citizens of Wassa Fiase [CCWF] are angry about the alleged clandestine and frequent withdrawal of millions of Ghana cedis from the traditional council’s account by Mr. Alfred Doodu and Nana Kwesi Akrosa who do not hail from Wassa Fiase without any accountability.
The alleged financial malfeasance by the above-mentioned individuals, NewsGhana has gathered, is being perpetrated in collusion with Solomon Appiah who is a signatory to the account.
Because of the said individuals’ involvement in the alleged pillage of funds of the chiefs and people of Wassa Fiase, they have build a financial war chest and have became very powerful and had being meddling in the chieftaincy affairs of Wassa Fiase.
As a result, Mr. Solomon Appiah, this paper has gathered had threatened to use money to influence the destoolment of the chief of Wassa if he dares challenge or expose him.
The current confusion in Wassa Fiase according to Onyameba R. Atta-Kesson, the Chairman Concerned Citizens of Wassa Fiase [CCWF] had deprived the Traditional Area of its fare share of the national cake.
The Chairman of CCWF said at a news conference in Accra that, though Wassa Fiase contributes about 40% of Ghana’s revenue, its roads are in a deplorable state.
As a result, he said, it is very risky to drive on Wassa Fiase roads. Onyameba R. Atta-Kesson is also not impressed about the governance style of Mr. Gilbert Asmah, the Municipal Chief Executive [MCE] of Tarkwa Nsuaem.
He said the MCE has demonstrated lack of interest in the development of the area because he does not hail from Wassa Fiase.
The Chairman of CCWF said though Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency which houses Wassa Fiase is the World Bank of the ruling New Patriotic Party led Government. He was not happy that the area had been neglected by President Akufo-Addo inspired Government.
Onyameba R. Atta-Kesson said “we therefore call on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to direct the immediate construction of our roads and to direct the Minister of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Kofi Dzamesi not to meddle in the chieftaincy matters of Wassa Fiase if he[the Minster]cannot help us find solutions.
We further call for an immediate full audit of the accounts of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Council.”
